Shows Update

Despite the cold spring weather the Shows so far have been sucessful.

There were some short bearded Iris in flower for Show at Borde Hill and the gardens were looking lovely despite the heavy rain on Saturday.

Garden Show at Paddock Wood

The weather was better than expected and we were able to mount an Iris garden display featuring a mix of tall ,intermediate and short bearded Iris,for which we were awarded a gold medal.The stars of the Show were Iris Art Deco, Footloose and Iris Shirley Chandler.

A wonderful show held in the museum which is in a converted church next to Lambeth Palace

We were delighted to be awarded award for the Best Plant in Show .  

Spring

Despite awful wet weather the Iris are all starting to grow. Iris bucharica is in flower with its unusual pale yellow and white flowers.All of the bearded Iris are showing good new growth promising a wealth of flowers to come in next few weeks/months.

We are beginning to get plants ready for first show at Rhs Westminster and hope to have several short bearded Iris and Intermediate Iris in flower,though it would be great to have some decent spells of sunshine in the next two weeks.

We are also in process of preparing a new look catalogue rather than simply send out pages of the website or plain lists.The catalogue will be available from end of April and will list majority of plants currently available with some colour photographs of particular favourites.

Unfortunately due to poor recent weather conditions in Kent ,we've had snow and heavy frosts we've had to withdraw from Rhs Show as we were unable to provide a display garden  which we felt was of a high enough standard
