Iris of Sissinghurst is a iris nursery specialising entirely in growing & selling Iris plants. It is run by Sue Marshall. The nursery was founded by Margaret Roberts. Sue Marshall subsequently joined as a partner. Margaret retired in June 2006, leaving Sue running the nursery.
The aim is to offer a wide range of Iris, adding new varieties each year. Selling is usually by mail order, at shows and at the nursery either by appointment or on advertised selling days.
At the nursery we sell on a number of weekends each year, timetabled so that a major group of Irises is in flower. Customers can see exactly what the plant and the flowers look like, and buy their plants in the pots they have been growing in.
The nursery has been relocated to Marden only a few miles away, where previously plants were grown for shows. Plants can be collected from the nursery by appointment only.
We operate Mail Order system and list on this website Irises currently available and prices. We can send out plants as gifts and are happy to enclose a greeting card and message at no extra charge.

In the past we have exhibited at numerous shows and were awarded several medals for the displays at Harrogate Spring Flower Show,Cardiff Flower Show,Hertford Flower Show,RHS Westminster Shows and Kent Garden Shows
2009 was a sucessful year at the Shows. We were awarded a platinum medal at the Kent Garden Show in May when the Iris were at their best This is the highest award given so we were delighted.
Chelsea Flower Show was amazing with Cayeux,French Iris grower being awarded a silver gilt medal. We grew all their plants for the display and helped create the display in the floral marquee.
We also provided Iris plants for a courtyard garden sponsored by Demelza House, a local childrens hospice. This was awarded a silver gilt medal too.
In 2007 we grew Iris for several show gardens at Chelsea Flower Show. The main garden was the sponsors Marshalls Show garden which was awarded a silver medal.
We also supplied Iris to one of the courtyard gardens A Touch of France which was awarded a silver gilt medal.
We grew Iris for Cayeux display in the Flower Marquee for Chelsea Flower Show in 2005 and 2006
Both displays were awarded silver medals.
